China Displays Advanced Weapons at Massive Military Parade
China demonstrated its most advanced military hardware, a stunning display of martial pride dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army.
On July 30 China held a massive military parade at the Zhurihe military base in Inner Mongolia dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the PLA’s founding, with some 12,000 servicemen, 129 aircraft and 571 military vehicles taking part in the event.
During the parade the Chinese leadership displayed the most advanced military hardware at its disposal, including Type 99A main battle tanks, HJ-10 anti-tank missile systems, Shenyang J-16 strike fighters and Chengdu J-20 fifth-generation stealth fighter aircraft.
Beijing also presented its “carrier killer” – the DF-21D anti-ship medium range ballistic missile – and unveiled the new DF-31AG intercontinental ballistic missile that has a maximum range of over 10,000 kilometers.
The Chinese People’s Liberation Army was founded on August 1, 1927. And despite the fact that Chinese President Xi Jinping earlier announced his intention to reduce the number of his country’s military personnel by 300,000, the over 2-million-strong PLA still remains the world’s largest military force.
What this Hybrid War on the Solomon Islands has thus far shown is that small nations which switch their recognition from Taipei to Beijing will be punished through the external exacerbation of their preexisting identity tensions for regime change ends. The Solomon Islands was recently destabilized by large-scale riots that prompted the government to request…
Commentaries in China’s official media show growing Chinese anger at US grandstanding and intransigence on the North Korean issue. If the Chinese or anyone else imagined that the sanctions resolution recently passed by the UN Security Council would calm tensions in the Korean Peninsula, they must by now be disabused of that illusion. Though there…
On May 23, 2021, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan stated that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will have a positive impact not only on Pakistan’s economic growth, but also on how the entire South Asian region develops. Imran Khan praised the speed of the work done on creating special economic…
Next week’s provocative visit of the Dalai Lama to the Chinese-contested town of Tawang is set to mark a low point in relations between New Delhi and Beijing. China and India, on paper at least, are very close partners. Both Asian Giants are members of BRICS, and the latter in poised to officially enter the SCO later this year. Trade…
Pakistan was attacked by terrorists over the past five days when eight separate blasts ripped through the country and reminded the world that Islamabad is on the front-lines in the War on Terror. Unlike after the end of the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan, this time it wasn’t just ‘wayward freedom fighters’ boomeranging back to their home…
Eliot Engel, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, epitomizes the US government’s double standards towards the Uighurs and Kashmiris by making a fake news fuss about the former while totally ignoring the wanton human rights abuses being committed against the latter. It’s nothing new that the US applies double standards towards practically every…
