Russia’s Anger at the Latest UN Resolution Shows That Lula Was Wrong to Support It
Although he didn’t single any country out in the remarks that he shared about that resolution, there’s no doubt that Russia’s top UN diplomat Vasily Nebenzia’s sharp criticisms apply to Brazil just as much as they apply to every other country like the US and its European vassals that also supported it.
The “Lula Liberals”, which refers to the liberal-globalist faction of the Workers’ Party and its allies who function as agents of US influence in Brazil, have been desperately spinning Lula’s condemnation of Russia in his joint statement with Biden in order to cover up for his new US-friendly foreign policy. Their “hero” just humiliated them though by exposing his information warriors as the liars that all objective observers knew they were this entire time after ordering Brazil to vote against Russia at the UN.
Nevertheless, the “Lula Liberals’” propaganda campaign continues unabated, with the emerging narrative now being that Russia will supposedly turn a blind eye towards what Brazil just did. While it’s true that Moscow probably won’t let this latest development impede its desire to comprehensively strengthen ties with that fellow BRICS country, there’s no doubt that it noticed what Lula ordered his diplomats to do and will recalibrate their assessment of his larger intentions accordingly.
This isn’t speculation like skeptics and trolls alike might instinctively claim but predicated on what Russia’s top diplomat at the UN said about that resolution. RT reported that Vasily Nebenzia described it as follows: “[The document] is aimed at encouraging the West’s actions and at giving a pretext for our opponents to claim that Russia is supposedly isolated in the world. It means the continuation of their militaristic Russophobic line while using the so-called support from UN members as cover.”

Considering this, it can thus be said that Lula’s decision to have his diplomats back that anti-Russian resolution was indeed aimed at advancing the West’s information warfare narratives and continuing its militaristic Russophobic line.
He could have abstained from the vote like his fellow BRICS counterparts did but instead voluntarily decided to have Brazil side with the US on this issue. It’s all the more damning that he didn’t sit this one out like they did after RT mentioned in their hyperlinked report above that the General Assembly rejected Belarus’ amendment urging countries to refrain from sending arms to the conflict zone and to support the resumption of peace talks without delay.
If Lula was serious about his G20-like peace proposal, then he could have used that as the pretext for Brazil to abstain. He didn’t, though, and therefore can no longer credibly be described by any objective observer as “neutral” towards the Ukrainian Conflict after showing the world at the UN that his country is solidly against Russia’s special operation. Those who claim otherwise have either been deceived by the “Lula Liberals’” information warfare campaign or are deliberately deceiving others.
